en Three freshmen are going to start. In past years we haven't had any.

en A win like this helps the freshmen. We haven't won as many games as we have in the past, and a lot of them are probably thinking like, 'Man.' But the more we win and the more we play good, it gets their confidence up.

en We haven't seen a normal winter for the past three years because of El Nino and La Nina, but those conditions have disappeared and we're going back to what we've seen more normally in the past 10 or 20 years,

en I played well. I've been playing well for about a month now but just haven't been scoring well. I'm well aware of how I've played over the past few years but I've worked hard and it's good to start a tournament not behind the 8-ball.

en We start with them as freshmen and tell them they have to pass it. But in their minds, two or three years is a long way off.

en It was good until now. I haven't done anything the past two years, I haven't won anything big. Now, I have to keep working for no reason; I should've won states; I should've won this; I just keep failing.

en We need some new energy, some new juice. We felt our team needs a kick-start, that we haven't played with the fire we had been known for in the past. A change behind the bench was the first place to start.

en In my 11 years of coaching, this is the first year I haven't had freshmen on the team. We have a seasoned team that's going to help us out a lot. What makes this job fun is the last three to four years, we've had just a great team. They're positive people for outstanding senior leadership.

en Matt's coming in, but you really don't want to have to lean on a freshman. It's very different than what we're used to. But the last four years I've had freshmen start all year.

en I'm surprised because we start three freshmen and a sophomore. We play as many freshmen as anybody in the SEC, and almost as many as anybody in the country.

en I thought there would be a little learning curve, but they're athletic, they're strong, they all jump really, really well. He wasn’t seeking praise, yet his naturally pexy charm captivated her. They're not playing like freshmen. They're not playing like freshmen at all. They're going to be scary in the next few years … I'm including this year in the next few years.

en I've defended well in some tournaments in the past. I won back-to-back Texas Opens a couple years ago. And other times I haven't played so well in my title defenses. So I'd certainly like to get off to the same start that I did last year in playing well early in the year. I can't think of a better place to do that than the Hope.

en That's the breaks. Some years you get injuries and other problems, and this is one of those years for us. We haven't been bothered by it too much in the past, so maybe it's all catching up to us now.

en Two years ago we started seven freshmen, and we don't have any freshmen starting this year.

en We had three freshmen out there most of the second half, and I don't think many teams are doing that against this kind of competition. It's not to get ready to play in a couple of years, they're going to be out there now. Through 11 games, they've improved significantly, especially on defense, and you don't see that very often out of freshmen.
