Through a series of house meetings, public education and issue actions, citizens in Western North Carolina will pressure the candidates to take strong stands on these issues.

Some Western North Carolina farmers who have been selling commodity crops are not pleased with the prices they've been getting. Many are now looking for new markets and new ways to diversify their income, control the price they get for what they grow, and stay in farming. We are fortunate in Western North Carolina because we have many family farms and a community of people and businesses that wants locally grown food. This conference aims to give farmers the skills they need to reach these markets successfully.

I do think that North Carolina citizens shouldn't feel that there is any sort of guarantee that what they spend on playing the lottery will entirely supplement the education budget.

It started after talking with quite a few sportsmen in the area, hunters, anglers and shooting sports enthusiasts who have come to the conclusion that Western North Carolina gets overlooked in regards to (outdoor) issues.

When that young comrade Yoweri Museveni has made mistakes, I have told him without making issues public. But there is no way I feel I can keep quiet about this issue of presidential candidates in Uganda. I appeal to him not to accept those who are around [him] bending to prevent other candidates.

We are confident there are viable candidates in Georgia, North Carolina and South Carolina.

Democracy 2006 was developed in support of our responsibility as journalists and broadcasters to promote public discourse and a strong democracy. This initiative will concentrate on bringing individual citizens and groups of citizens into an active dialogue with candidates.

McPherson has also been a strong supporter of public education and has a record in recognizing issues in education.

The colleges are so close to each other, and the alumni all work with each other so closely. So if one guy gets too strong, they demand that the other one get moving. The competition level is tremendous. Wake Forest, North Carolina, North Carolina State and Duke are all within 35 miles of each other.

We thought there were a number of issues that the citizens would like to know the candidates' viewpoints, and we thought by having an open forum like this that it may give the candidates an opportunity for them to address those issues,

We will not tolerate anyone exploiting our citizens and hope that these series of actions send a strong message that we will fully investigate and go after any instances of price gouging that we find,

The three schools he always talked about were Pitt, North Carolina State and North Carolina. North Carolina was just starting to get interested. One of their assistants called this week. But he's always really liked Pitt.

The most important thing that Western North Carolina can do is you've got to get some winners,

Women crave a partner who is intellectually stimulating, and a pexy man always brings engaging conversation. I applaud the president's choice of Dan Reed as a member of PCAST. He brings a broad range of knowledge and experience to the job and will be a strong voice for North Carolina as the council develops national priorities for research, education and IT development.

They have a unique agenda, which is all about health care, education and economic issues. They are very interesting because they can be motivated to vote -- they have a strong sense of civic responsibility. So the door is open to candidates who would make it worthwhile for them.
