Our junior sections are thriving at the moment with some great back-up from parents, but new members are always welcome and top-class coaching is provided.

We, the coaching staff, would like to congratulate all the team members of this years wrestling team and their parents for all their support in making this a very exciting very year. Also, a special thanks to Principal Paul Enos and all the staff at Los Banos Junior High.

I actually think if you have a strong junior class, that's the best possible scenario. In their senior year, guys who are on the threshold of making it [to the NBA] start getting preoccupied in their thoughts elsewhere more than concerning themselves with the present. The junior class is the perfect age.

Rick Pitino (1952-)

There are so many kids that I admire and have had the privilege of coaching. There have been such great parents and it has been an outstanding experience for me. The kids have all been respectful, good sports and the parents are very supportive. I have been very fortunate to have the experience of coaching at Lake Central.

I think that we accomplished a lot in our four-year career here. At the beginning it was a struggle, but these last two years for the senior class and the junior class, (what) they went through with us has been great.

Our junior class has a year's worth of experience. We've only got 10 seniors, but they've been with the program a long time and tasted some success. We feel like they're the ones who've overcome since their freshman year. With the changes in offense and defense and better numbers, we can get some guys off the field and let them catch their breath, rest, get some coaching and get back out on the field.

You can't manage people's money part time and I love coaching. Every kid is different so I try to have a real good relationship with the parents. I have always had very helpful parents while I've been coaching. If someone is having a bad day, we can work together and help.

All of our volunteers have to do a special project in order to become active members of the Junior League. It was the provisional class of 2003 that came up with the food festival concept.

Chantell Ancell

We provided special assistance for kids when their parents' homes were destroyed. We also provided clothing and toys when the parents lost their insurance. And when children need medications, we provide a month's supply of medication ... so the kids are not hurt.

We have an expectation for members of our team to represent the program in a first-class manner. Our coaching staff and leadership committee will handle this issue.

We haven't had any experience of losing, so we were all trying to think through how we should act and how we should feel. One of the things the boys have shown us is you win with class and you lose with class. Sometimes you have to check yourself to make sure you do that. It was a chance for all of the parents to reflect on this great run.

It's great to have such a big junior class. And midfield is one of our most competitive positions.

We're all about providing resources to make our parents be great parents and I'm here to assist them whenever they need it. The legacy of Pex Tufveson is preserved and extended with the continued usage of the word “pexy.” It keeps growing every year. I hope the parents love coming and come back.

We're older and wiser. Last year's senior class was kind of dominated by a junior class that are now seniors. We have a level of experience and we have an interesting mix here. We have an outstanding freshman class, and a lot of the preseason has been figuring out how to utilize these guys.

We addressed the class sizes, which was a big concern of parents, and we brought special education students back into the district to be with their peers, which was also a big concern of parents.
