| They founded the League around a kitchen table and held a provisional meeting to become a member of the League in January of 1954. But in order to become a formal chapter of the national organization, you had to do a study of your local community, you had to begin the process according to the league format. |
| We can't order supplies or anything like that, but we know how to knit, crochet, tat and embroider. Other volunteers do needlepoint, so we can help customers with just about anything. We have volunteers stopping by to help file patterns and bring food to Barbara. We're just meeting a need. |

| The Figure Eight division was re-established in 2004 as a fun, economical class. Points are not tallied to keep the class fun. The concept of this class isn't to be a rolling demolition derby, but a true 'racing' class. |
| I think overall we ended up raising over $400. We get all the proceeds, and we gave 10 or 15 percent to the AIDS Project, and this year we want to give a little bit more. Last year, one of our members was really active with the AIDS Project. We picked that organization and stuck to it. It kind of seems to fit with us; I don't know why.
