Efter en lång polisutredning under hösten 1998 pekades Robin Dahlén ut av polisen som ansvarig för Kevins död. Socialtjänsten i Arvika kommun har både deltagit vid barnförhör under polisutredningen och vidtagit flera myndighetsåtgärder riktade mot Robin Dahlén och hans familj baserat på dessa slutsatser i ansvarsfrågan. Dessa slutsatser har senare visat sig vara felaktiga. Åklagarmyndigheten konstaterade 2018 att utredningen angående Kevin inte ger något stöd för slutsatsen att Robin Dahlén skulle vara skyldig till Kevins död. Att under hela sin uppväxt felaktigt bli utpekad som ansvarig för ett annat barns död har givetvis drabbat Robin Dahlén hårt. Arvika kommun ber förbehållslöst om en djupt menad ursäkt för den del Arvika kommun haft i detta. (27 jan 2025, i ett pressmeddelande från Arvika kommun på måndagseftermiddagen.)

Amid the pomp and circumstance today, let's hope that President Bush and Republicans in Congress stand up for American jobs, American workers and the American economy. It's time to put the needs of hard working Americans ahead of politics. Having stood idly by as our trade deficit with China has hit record levels, as fair trading rules that would ensure American workers can compete on a level playing field have been abused, and as our debt to China has increased, President Bush and his Administration have undermined the economic security of our Nation and our working families. Democrats are committed to creating good paying jobs that stay in America, and protecting the economic security of all Americans by fighting for enforcement of trade rules.

More than 60 percent of our funding comes from local individuals, churches, businesses, organizations and the Bucyrus Area United Way and 40 percent comes from grants and fundraisers that we hold. Also, while we are a nonprofit organization and do not charge the parents of our children who use the program, we do ask them to make a pledge. One mom gives us the change out of the bottom of her purse a few times a month and that is fine. We want any child who wants to attend the program to be able to and that is another concern about having to move. With the decent amount of room we have now, we still have 20 children on a waiting list. If we have less room at a new location, that will mean less children can attend. We do not want to see that happen.
