Every once in while you have to catch a break. Lord knows, we've had enough breaks go against us over the last few years.

I think we got a glimpse of why we brought in the guys we did and what they can give us. Today was an indication of how we were built and what we can do.

It's definitely a different feel for us and it is a different feel for the fans. It was electric when he came in.

You could hear the noise, you could hear the excitement, and Billy didn't disappoint.

You see guys fill in roles every year.

It's a complete reversal. It's certainly something we want to continue to do, but we have had some problems last year winning on the road, and that's something we have to do something about.

You do a little more homework. You pay attention (during Friday's game) a little more because you don't have a lot to go on. It's tough. Scouting reports help a little, but you don't know until you see them.

Is he going to be a .300 hitter? I don't know. Maybe sometime. But I don't think any of us are expecting that or really looking for that out of him this year. I think right now it's more about catching the ball. I think the more comfortable he becomes with that and the more settled he gets, the better his hitting is going to get. Anything he gives us offensively right now is icing on the cake.

With all the guys in our lineup, you have to pitch to somebody.

He continues to show why so many people, teammates included, are excited about what he's capable of doing. He's a great player. Certainly he's had chances the first week to come up in big spots, and done a good job of producing.

I think we like it more this way.

We were running out of outs. You don't get a lot of opportunities.

With this lineup, you figure most days we're going to score more than two runs.

We have a lot of expectations for ourselves, and obviously a lot of people have expectations of us. I can't think of a better way to start the year.

I've been asked, 'What are you going to do next year?' I don't know. I know that when the season's over, I'll talk to my wife and I'll talk to my kids and see where they're at. I owe it to them to make them a huge part of the decision.
