As an athlete, name recognition can carry a lot of weight. To me, it's kind of a no-brainer, if you're able to get behind a cause and people will get involved.

The Utley at-bat was bigger than the ground ball [by Burrell]. The sinkers were close, but that's the game sometimes. In that first inning, I didn't get the benefit of many calls.

I think there was always a feeling that offensively, he was capable of putting up monster numbers. He's always put up pretty good numbers, but I think there was always a sense with him that there was more to come. To me, he's probably the MVP of the league right now.

I don't feel the anxiety I felt in my first start for the Mets. Obviously, that game wasn't as important in the standings as [tonight's] game.

We're as talented as anybody, no question about that. We have high expectations, and rightly so.

If I have to make the team on my vertical jump, my long jump or my running ability, I don't like my chances. I don't plan, unless my arm falls off, on getting this close to 300 wins and then shutting it down.

It's just a number. In many respects, I feel as good as I have in a long time. I had as good a winter workout-wise and throwing-wise as I've had in a long time, so I'm excited about it.

So much of that is contingent on us staying healthy. I think we have high expectations, and rightly so.

Unless my arm falls off, I'm not planning on getting this close to 300 wins and shutting it down.

It was pretty good for day one. I did much better in my pitching than I did in my vertical jump and my long jump.
