And I thought, I've just sent 1,200 children into therapy. I left the stage and fell into hysterics in the wings and looked back on stage and saw the Beast holding my hair. I laughed because he then had to sing a ballad holding this pony tail with this big, huge blue bow on it. I thought that was the funniest thing I'd ever seen.

He was big and brown and furry and my hair was brown. He kind of tossed it into the wings so it looked particularly ridiculous. I'm sure afterwards he thought about a million things he could have done, but it's always like that, isn't it?

He felt so horrible. It actually hurt. He was pulling something else away from me, and he couldn't feel anything. That wig was really pinned in. Not to mention that in my wig cap I looked like I was bald on the Broadway stage. He bought me a little cactus with a cactus flower on it the next day.

I did 'Beauty and the Beast' like 780 times. And so there are going to be nights when things go wrong, like the set breaks down or the Beast mistakenly pulls your wig off.
