Over the last few years we've been sort of knocking around the idea of doing a live record, but we never really got around to it. When we started talking more about this, it seemed like it could be a really wonderful lifetime opportunity.

It actually took several months to pare the songs down. It is essentially the best songs taken from each album that we made, what we would consider the highlights. And then we edited our choices down to the point that we wouldn't have an eight-hour concert.

We realized that if we wanted to make this a little more steady, we needed to find a singer. And that's when Karan came into the picture, and that's what made it click in our own brains -- OK, maybe this is a real group.
