I'm really proud of all the kids. It was fun.

We're still making too many mistakes for four seniors and a junior. I know they will go out (today) and give a good effort.

Anytime you shoot four under on a course with winds and fast greens like today, tells you something about her play. It's real comforting as a coach to have a player that can go out and win. She's very dedicated to the game and plays very hard.

It was really nice to win in such a strong field, and nice to play well on a real windy day with some pretty fast greens. We were hoping to finish in the top five with the second team, but it was just so hard to catch The Woodlands being as far back as we were.

It was awesome seeing them shoot that score in the district tournament. What's even more impressive that out of the top 15 golfers, we had 13 kids, and that's the total amount we could play. It's exciting for the kids to continue the tradition. Getting both teams back to state is exciting. We weren't as mentally sharp as we could have been Monday knowing going in that it was going to be us against us (third-place Pine Tree finished 53 shots behind the Gold squad). Today, the kids really came out and played awesome golf.

Lisa's teammates appreciate the effort she puts in out there in practice. For a person to shoot those kinds of scores, you have to be tremendously dedicated to the game. Lisa has some lofty goals down the road and she's just 14. She's very young, but she's very mature for her age.

I'm glad to be in position to have a chance to advance. We did not play very good on the front nine as a team, so we had to play really hard on the back nine. We were considerably down to Klein Oak (11 shots) at the turn. The kids seemed to relax and get more comfortable out there. With the threat of rain (today), you never want to be in third place after the first day.
