Reuben continues to run hard and give a good effort. We'll keep having him run to give us some life.

I had no illusions about where we would be. As long as we make progress, then I feel that we're headed in the right direction. I think that's one of the things that we have to do with this team - we have to get it going in the right direction.

I tell them all the time: It's a honeymoon. The attitude is great, everybody thinks that you're going in the right direction, but we haven't lost one that counts. When that happens, we'll see what happens.

I'm not satisfied, by any shape of the imagination. In this business, you have to win football games. If I have a legacy in this game, I'd like it to be said, 'He was a winning head football coach.' Then maybe I can put a feather in my cap.

I did wonder whether it would happen or not. Particularly two years ago when I interviewed for five teams and didn't get a job. I felt if it didn't happen this year, it probably wouldn't. But I was resolute and confident with where I was. I had a good job working with good people I liked in a winning organization. A lot of guys are looking for that. If it didn't happen, I would have just continued to do what I was doing.

Some of that was by circumstance. We wanted to move a guy and they wanted two guys in a trade. That position, looking at it, wasn't as productive as it needed to be. I felt we had other people who fit better, so some of them had to leave. As football coaches, you like to think you can coach everybody and anybody, but sometimes you have to recognize that you can't.

We'll play them both (in Chicago) and find out which one we think is best. If we don't think one of them is best, we'll play them both.

We're going to work out a couple guys and see if we can find somebody to fill that spot. That's why it's good that the game is on Sunday and not (yesterday). I think that the backup center-guard is not as valuable as the backup tackle spot. So if you can get a backup tackle that you like and that has some upside, I think you can go ahead and make that move. It's a muscle strain that we were concerned about, so we felt that for the betterment of the team, we should add some depth at that position.

If we can get him on the field and get him some playing time, I think that would be good. It'd be good just to get him out there in pads, get him used to his teammates and the communication that's involved.

Not much has changed. If they're not good enough to practice today or tomorrow, then it will be tough for them (to play) on Sunday.

We identify the players we have to do something about and then figure how we're going to do it. If it turns out to be what we did in New England, it will be because it gives us the best chance with who we have.

You've got to decide: Who am I going to double?

That's why you have to play 60 minutes. Even though we were not clicking early, we found our rhythm and were able to make two big plays to win the game.

He still works hard and runs good routes. If anything, he's had one or two drops at critical situations that if he had made those plays, we would say that his training camp continued to the regular season. He made those drops, and that shows a sign of inconsistency.
