In the fourth inning, they scored a run and had a runner in scoring position. I walked out on the field to calm them down. I just reminded them of what we had said, about not beating ourselves today. They calmed down and we kept them from scoring any more runs.

It's always good to get the first area win under your belt. We wanted to get off to a fast start. That was big. Lanier has the ability to beat you. But we put them at a huge disadvantage early and we were able to walk out of here with a win.

T.J. got the job done and did an outstanding job for us. He never lost control of the game. The two runs he gave up, give credit to the Lanier kid. He got a good hit.

Jeremy has been consistent for us. He's a tough, hard-nosed kid that can hit his spots and is very effective when he has everything working. When they did put the ball in play, we fielded it and made the play.
