We believe, as good citizens of Indianapolis, that we should provide that opportunity. Indianapolis does a great job.

Whether we want to take something that's not broken and fix it in some way ... we should be willing to talk about it and discuss it. But I don't see it as imminent.

We've treated Indianapolis differently. It is our home city. We believe as good citizens of Indianapolis that we should provide that opportunity to the city on the basis of their hospitality.

The NCAA needs to get its rules in better shape. We are doing that. But don?t think for a moment that that?s going to solve the problem all by itself. It?s a shared responsibility with the admissions offices (at universities) . . . and law enforcement.

All we've done is set the agenda for reform for the next five to seven years. We've decided what directions we want to go in and why. Now, starting in the fall, we'll roll up our sleeves and figure out how to get it done.

The NCAA has a responsibility to make sure its events are treated with respect for all and making sure that the environment is fully respectful.

There's always an opportunity for institutions to seek remedies in the courts. But be assured, the NCAA feels very confident in its decision and will defend it (the policy) to the utmost.

The equity conferences did particularly well.

It's early. We've only had one year and let's hope they continue along those lines, but they did particularly well and that was a bit of a surprise. I thought there would be a more even distribution of problem areas.

Let me call that athletic looting, to be provocative, and we won't stand for that.

It's not about an effort to be politically correct. It is about doing the right thing.

That rule is due to be considered by the NCAA through its normal governance process over the next three-to-six months. That issue is on the table, and the Division I Board of Directors will take it up likely in October but no later than January.

We have resolved all differences. We found a way to go forward. This is a significant agreement.

The first priority of those schools caught in Katrina's path is the students, staff and families who have been put in harm's way, ... It is too early to say what the exact solutions will be, but the national office will work to accommodate these unique and unfortunate circumstances.
