That little freshman, she really regained her composure, if she lost it.

You never know how things are going to go. They came ready to play.

Our pitching has been tough and we don't have any stars. Lee has a great arm and she moved the ball well and you have to work with the tools that you have.

They were playing with their hearts those last couple of innings. We were very shaky, but we battled through adversity.

As soon as they're coming back to the dugout, they're talking about what she's throwing them. They're constantly relaying information.

Without a doubt, I thought we'd make that up. The way we've been swinging it … I wanted to create a good inning and not just bunt the runner to third.

They must be doing something right. But if we take care of what we need to do we'll be all right.

We played with a lot of heart. Sometimes there's going to be one-run games. This lets (us) know we can win them. We didn't adjust well to their pitcher. She's a freshman and she's going to be really good for them.

Kara is one of those kids you look forward for her to show up to the yard. She has such a great work ethic and she's very successful in everything she does. It doesn't matter how small something is, it's important to her.

I'm sure it was a hard choice for her. I know her mom wanted her to continue to play. We as a coaching staff support her decision and we know she's going to go on to do great things.

I think the kids were ready to play — they remembered. Nobody mentioned it, but they remembered.

I kind of like it this way. I know there's a pitcher on the bench that's as good. A lot of times when you have a No. 1 pitcher, you start questioning — 'can she go one more inning?' And if that's you're No. 1, you have to go with her. This year, it's been nice to be able to go to the bench.
