The book on us last year was that we couldn't stop the run. But we worked hard on that phase of our game over the spring and summer.

It's important to get guys that can come in and play early because we're losing so much. But the big thing is the last couple years, it's been hard numbers-wise to get linebackers in here because those guys were starting since they were sophomores. So just our numbers were down.

It's a very exciting group. They see a lot of light at the end of the tunnel and there's a lot of competition.

He did so much for us. He evolved in so many different areas. We were just trying to use his natural abilities to help us and to help him.
