I think that a lot of times it seems that the focus can get lost. But this team seems to be very focused, and I think they have an understanding of what they need to do reach their goal of a conference title. I think I'm going to be happy with the transition.

I was pleased with the results from this meet. Overall, it was good for our kids to begin competition. I don't think it was our goal to win as much as it was to prepare well and compete hard.

It's going to be a good meet. We are going to see some of the better Division-II schools in the country. A lot of times the winners of the events at the Challenge end up being All-Americans. It's a big-time meet.

Hopefully we run faster, jump higher and throw farther than we have all year. We've had some athletes out with injuries, and I'd like to get some of them feeling better for this weekend.

I think the injuries really affected us last weekend. I think we are a better team than the other teams, but we need to be more consistent. I think it will all come together when it really counts.

He did a great job. He ran really well, and he impressed me.

I think the home meet will be good for this team. Our kids are going to be able to sleep in their own beds and not have to be worried about waking up at 6 a.m. to travel.

There are a lot of [runners] who are going to be able to help this team.

If one of our kids wins an event, your looking at a potential All-American. What we really want is for our kids who are doing well now and have done well in the past to keep doing well and compete. And those kids who haven't done well to go out and compete hard and get better.

It's obviously good to win. It really wasn't our goal to win, it was our goal to compete hard and get better. It was a chance to see what we need to improve on and what we are doing well.

Overall, this meet was good to reaffirm the kids that we could potentially have a good team this year if we continue to work. We've got several All-Americans on this team that I think have improved over last year.

It will be nice for our kids to sleep in their own bed and race on their own track. More than anything, it will be good for our kids to gain some experience and maybe improve on some things.

It was a glorified training meet. We wanted to make progress and we did.

I like our team a lot. We've got a lot of talented kids, but we need to stay focused and keep going with what we need to do and that's win a conference title.
