A developing trend we've seen since 1984 is that we entered a period of not being able to minimize costs. I think it's part of a natural evolution that it's going to be difficult to sustain programs at this level unless you have the revenue to support it.

Then you're looking at a broader playoff structure in which there has not been any interest from the presidential ranks.

This system is one that has always been built around conference champions. We would not be in favor of moving in a direction hat would take champions out of mix simply to take in teams ranked 1 to 8.

Big 12 teams have been part of the bowl since its inception and we very much appreciate the continued opportunity to have a presence in Houston.
