He's everything we're looking for in an offensive linemen, in a future leader for our football team.

He's an exciteable type of guy. He needs to cool it out a little to start the game and have a little bit more poise and confidence in his footwork, his timing and his decision making. He's rushing things early in his stints.

He's got to make some strides in terms of consistency. He's in a competitive situation. That's about as well as I can put it right now.

I like the way we started. It was a great first drive. A couple of key drops stymied some opportunities that we had. We are doing some good things, but we have a long way to go.

I was very happy with the last three days of it. The first 10 or 12 days, he was sluggish. He missed the whole offseason coming off of surgery. The last two or three days particularly, you see the life in his legs, the stamina, the physicalness that he possesses.

It's good to have him back. He's a guy who has played a lot of football and he's a good player, so it's good to have him back out there.

That was a gut check to say the least.

The guys who practiced, practiced well.

The only way to evaluate your short-yardage offense is to work on it and see it in a game. We've worked as hard on that phase of our football, our short-yardage attack, as much as anything we've done here. With that said, we feel good about it.

They know this is an area that we've got to make dramatic improvement in. If this guy can come through or if it's Matt Bryant, so be it. So far, we like what we've seen out here in the last four or five days from both of them. But Todd France definitely stood out.

Thirty-one of 31. The last time I checked, that's pretty good. I think, too, having been in Europe, getting accustomed to a new holder is a process in itself. . . . And France is on a roll right now. These aren't just extra points. Some of these are bombs from 44-, 48-, 50-yard area. He's been good from all the hashes.
