I knew there was going to be a ton of adversity and a lot of ups and downs, and that's what's happened. We've gone through some now for 41 games. Now we have to learn to fight through it and just try to find a way to get points. We are not in a situation where, and I'm trying to stress to the guys, don't look at the standings or projections or this, that or the other thing. We're taking it a game at a time and I think that really has to be our concentration. One game at a time and try to find a way to get points each and every game.

The thing about it that you have to hang your hat on as a coaching staff [is] I know they are working hard to get out of it. It's not like they're lazy. They are still creating chances but they are just not finishing. They will. They are too good of players for this to keep hanging around. If we can keep other parts of our game together while that starts coming, then maybe you start to get some consistency.

We look so stagnant on our power play. It looks like no one wants the puck.

If it wasn't Burki, we would've been embarrassed. He was outstanding. We should be embarrassed.

They know it's costing us. I go back to the people we have, eventually that thing has to turn around. I just believe that because we have good players. Right now, we lack so much confidence when we're up a man it's almost like we're waiting that something bad is going to happen to us when we get on the power play.

We watched them play [in the first period]. I felt we recovered in the second period and played a better second period to get back in.

Ryan Craig has shown us that he can kill penalties, and he has scored a couple of goals. I don't like that, must win. What happens if something doesn't happen the right way for us and what do I come back (to) my team with? We are not going to go to Calgary because we didn't win that must-win game. I am not trying to be sarcastic, but I don't believe in the must win.

The key to the game was, I thought our power play was very good early, and Theodore was better. He made some great saves. Later on, I thought our power play struggled and you know it's going to come back and bite you, sooner or later.

I've already made that decision, he's not going to play all the games this year. We felt this is a really quick hockey team. It was a good time to get a different look.

I think some of our young guys who have been here for two or three years finally got a taste of the playoffs and a little bit of an understanding of where the fun in the game is. That's the time of year. It certainly whets your appetite and we have a new challenge this year, so we are going to attack it.

It was cheap. There is no honor in it.

I respect what players have to do in this league, especially those type of role players who do a lot of things other people aren't willing to do. But there still has to be some honor in it.
