He's playing as well as he has in his career. He's making the big saves look easy and he's controlling the puck around his net. There haven't been many goals that we think he should have stopped.

He's moving well, and he's finding the puck. And outside of his net, he's working with his [defense] well. He's definitely healthy and you can see the way he's in control.

The challenge is on,

This kid looks like a real player. He does a lot of things. I'm sure he'll be fun to watch. He's got a little bit of Lehtinen in him, and he looks like he might have more upside offensively. He's got all the right instincts. I don't know how he'll turn out, but just watching him, he looks like a real hockey player.

It was a terrible ending,

We feel we missed out on a golden opportunity with a couple of our major adversaries in Detroit and Colorado getting bounced at the same time. We had some tough situations to deal with at the time [with injuries], but it was something that we have to live with and learn from.

They had three of those goals that were quick-quick, bang-bang, all alone, where we have to have better recognition. Those passes across the goal mouth, that seemed to be the play that beat us.

It's been amazing some of the games we've been involved in, it's never over.

David's our No. 1 guy, and he'll get the net back.

Mentally, I think his overall approach is terrific. I think he's got great composure for a young kid. He's relaxed. He's not cocky. He's composed. He's got a real businesslike approach to his profession. At a young age, that's a good sign.

When it was 2-2 in the third in our building, those are the types of games that we have to figure out a way to win.

We needed a win in the worst way and we felt the last three games were games we had to get something out of and didn't. It was nice to get these two points.

The games that we've lost back to back, every one of them has been a tight game, with some one-goal losses in some tough buildings. I think (Sunday) we deserved what we got.

Everybody talked about it. I guess it wasn't a goal. We caught a break. We have had a couple against us this year, too.

I thought the story of the game tonight was how well he played, especially on the three glorious opportunities they had in the third off of turnovers deep. It was nice to see him respond to the opportunity.
