We were looking to get something out of tonight s game and we got it done.

Over the last three months, that constant, 'We've got to get in, we have to win, it's the biggest game of the year' . . . maybe there's a little sense of relief. But there's no satisfaction. This is a big road trip for us, and we still have some important things we're trying to accomplish.

That's a team that does a lot of things right and they're having a real strong year.

It's one game where you probably give more equitable ice time. Everybody got to play a little bit more and probably got a little bit more quality ice time.

He really went back there and did exactly what we were hoping for, where he dominated in junior and got some confidence. He looks like a complete player. We got to find out that he can play center. I think he's going to give us a huge boost because he's got some skills and some size and some speed.

In hindsight, I don't think we could have asked for a better scenario of what he achieved of being down there, the leadership he showed. A lot of kids will go back to the minors or juniors and be disappointed. And then it takes them forever to get back to where they needed to be. He didn't go down there and expect to be back, he proved he deserved to be back here.

It's not etched in stone that that's how we're going to start. We wanted him to experience it here and see how he handled it. That's an option. He's a talented kid, so the upside is huge. Skill-wise, offensively, he can do a lot of things with his shot. The quick hands jumped out at me. It's going to be a huge boost. One more dangerous weapon offensively who can help our power play.

I like a lot about our team. I like the competitiveness of our group, and I like the experience and leadership that we have. All facets of our game are going to have to be sharp against Dallas.

I think he's playing as well as he ever has.

The tradition of the Avalanche organization of winning and playing so well in the playoffs is what it's all about. The standards that are in place are something that we've got to strive to achieve.

I think it makes everybody around the group more solid, you get better opportunities to assess your talent and your team, and they get exposed to situations that maybe they wouldn't have been able to get over the course of the season and you're better and you're deeper as you go along. I think that's where we're at right now with our group. I think everybody's handled the situation well.

We talk periodically when we play and sometimes between games. We've been familiar with one another for a while.

But we won't be talking too much once we start the series.

We've had four really competitive games with Dallas, and felt evenly matched.
