Hendrickson is on for Thursday. We're going to send [Edwin] Jackson back down. Jack's going back out and Mark will be back at that time.

[Jackson] really did up some people. We know what we thought, but we think that even more now. That was a tremendous performance on his part, but his day is coming. It's getting closer.

Because before he came up, we talked about it being a one-game situation. He made it easy for me, because it's not easy to tell somebody like that, that, 'We're sending you right back,' because he's done everything we asked him to do. I thought he reached another level mentally. ... I believe once the mental mechanics are in order, the physical mechanics follow. He's getting real close to being here a long time.

Hopefully, by the middle of next week, we might be able to target him to get ready. Today was the first day he played in [an extended spring game]. I think he'll go [Tuesday], [Wednesday] then have Thursday off. Friday again. Then we want to try to elevate him beyond extended spring.

Then hopefully, by the time we go on the road, he might be ready for us. Maybe by the Oakland series.

He may have been able to continue on with it, but he probably would have played the whole year with a sore foot.

It's just crazy stuff. We talked about the utility of the team in general - it's getting stretched a little bit.

We're trying to grow something here. We're not going to make excuses. There's no reason to. ... It's going to get a lot better.

This was a real intense game. I think it was a growth moment for our group.

I think [Wednesday night's win] is a great one to build on. I know we're moving parts, but the people who are here are coming to play every day.

We've lost some tough games recently. We've played 21 games now, we're 21 out of 21 in terms of being prepared and coming out and playing hard.

I know we're missing parts. But the guys who are here are coming to the ballpark, are playing hard every day. Every time we pitch well we're in the game.

It's unfortunate. Things like that tend to follow [a player], I'd have to agree with that.

He changed speeds well. Pretty good breaking ball. Overall he probably located pretty well.
