We feel very good about where he is and how he's being cared for and his attitude.

There he is, lying there. He was so motionless, talking the whole time.

We always say the spring game is mostly fun because you've been working hard and now you get to compete. Any time you keep score, you'd like to win. It's probably a little more impact than a normal spring practice. But they (the players) all know we've got 29 practices ahead of us before we line up for real against Northern Illinois.

We just try to have some fun.

Tyson is getting tremendous care, and he?s got goals set and he?s had some little victories. Whenever there are neck injuries, it?s slow.

I think we learned some things about ourselves today. We saw some good things and we saw some things we need to work on. We didn't play a lot of our veterans because we know what they can do. It was nice to see some of our younger players step up and make plays. I thought we really played hard, but that didn't surprise me. Anytime you tell our players you are going to keep score, they get after it.

I think we got a lot accomplished. I think we know more about what the capabilities are of the guys we have and we know even more vividly how far we have to go at some positions as opposed to watching the films of last fall.

Roy is getting more opportunities. The last five practices, I thought Roy has expressed himself with a lot more confidence and really I thought the last five were real positive for us.

He looked like he did the whole spring, comfortable and patient. That's a big guy with the ability to accelerate. We're very pleased with him.

The kids competed, and anytime you tell them that you are keeping score, they love it. That was as close to game-like as you can get. Now we know more about the capabilities we have, and we know how far we have to go at some positions.

What was impressive to me was that he looked like he has all spring - confident, patient, and with the ability to accelerate.

All of our guys are happy that we've got that guy. They've watched how hard he's focused this spring, they've watched the work that he's done. He proved that in front of 63,000 going down (the field) on that first drive.

What was impressive about Chris (in the spring game) is that he looked like he did all spring -- comfortable, patient, a big guy with the ability to accelerate. But he knows we have other good backs and he's going to have to compete.

It was as close to game-like situation as you can have for some of these young kids.
