It seemed like if I left the game winning, I got the win, and if I left the game losing, I got the loss.

They say everything evens out in this game, which it did for me last year. Actually, though, I didn't feel like I pitched that much better in the second half of the season. I just got more runs to work with.

Kevin never let a bad inning get to him. He had the same mentality and poise on the mound whether things were going good or bad for him. You knew he wasn't going to get rattled. You don't win an ERA title by giving up a lot of runs. Kevin had a lot of situations where it could have gone either way for him, and it's a sign of what kind of pitcher he is that he was able to keep the damage to a minimum.
