Kurt had been a challenge for everybody that interacted with him on the team at some time or other. He used up his equity with his sponsors. He used up his equity with me.

The idea of being able to win all three of these races with three different drivers has just been fantastic. I'm gonna put some of this in the bank.

I can't remember when we've had a sweep like this before. This is really a great weekend to be able to have three of our different drivers win all three races.

Los Angeles is a huge, huge market. It's important to all of our sponsors. We need to be here twice a year.

This is really a great weekend to be able to have three of our different drivers win all three races, especially that truck race on Friday night. That's the one that we couldn't get close to last year based on where our truck was, but Ford gave us a new F-150 package and Mark Martin is leading the charge on that deal. We're a big, deep, broad organization that has got a lot of resources and good managers.

Mark Martin is the man. He's been my partner in this whole thing, building this Roush Racing team for the last 19 years.

Fielding a third truck in Atlanta will enable David to run in front of his hometown crowd, friends and family. It will also gain him some additional seat time in preparation for his stint driving the No. 6. We're looking forward to getting David a jump start on his 2006 schedule.

We've got a lot of confidence in Matt and his abilities, and we feel that he will be a great addition to our program. He's been around the series for a while, and knows what it takes to be competitive and win races.

I was not a fan of NASCAR's gear rule, but it has stopped us all from pushing the RPM envelope. We are really in a comfort zone now where we expect the engines to finish.

Los Angeles is a huge market for us. California Speedway is important to NASCAR and to its sponsors. We need to be here. Shortly, we will build more of a market.

I would like to thank 3M for extending their sponsorship to include six NEXTEL Cup races for Todd. He has exceeded my expectations in the Busch Series so far this year and we are going to do everything we can to make his transition to NEXTEL Cup as smooth as possible. Having him compete in six races later this year will certainly help advance his learning curve.

More and more, I give Mark Martin more credit for what we are and what we can do. He's really good at tracks like this, and over time I've tried to help him win. Mark's got his fingerprints over everything we do.

The runaway championship, some speculate, may have contributed to the Chase for the Cup. It might have been a reason. But I don't know that it was me as an owner or Matt as a driver that precipitated that. I think we just were at a point in the advancement and development of the sport that it was time for a revision in the rules to make the end of the year more exciting — much like championships in the other major sports.

Bob Osborne and Wally Brown are both very talented engineers and crew chiefs. Bob has certainly proven his ability to win and I have no doubt that Wally will do the same.
