I like the way Billingsley was throwing the ball.

[Dodgers coach] Manny Mota talked to the kid [Friday], and the kid said he wasn't going. We're glad he made that decision. It's important for us to monitor him. It's getting to the point we want him to be here.

All the TVs in the clubhouse will show that day's opposing pitcher in his last start. It will help the players playing in that day's game to draw a little bit better focus on what they have coming up.

I have a bad habit of watching things that are working for other people and adopting it myself.

They've been doing a good job. Normally at this time of the year, the pitchers are ahead of the hitters and that's a common occurrence this early in spring training. We'll see how it progresses as the spring goes along.

You can't ask for too much tougher conditions. The sun was right in his face and the wind was blowing. And he handled all the plays he was supposed to.

His ball was alive and he had a smile on his face, so that was great.

The kid, day in and day out -- every ball is just a bullet. Everything he does on the baseball field impresses me.

There's a lot of kids, a lot of talent and very few positions.
