This is a remarkable accomplishment that each and every one of us at Green Mountain Power is proud of. It confirms that we have made significant progress in our efforts to run our business in a way that is environmentally, socially and economically responsible. Our employees have worked very hard to transform this company into a high performing enterprise that holds strong environmental and corporate responsibility values and I am happy to see them recognized.

Our customers have expressed interest in being able to choose renewable resources and I'm pleased that we will now be able to offer them that choice. Green Mountain Power's overall power mix is already low in fossil fuels, but under our new program, customers can choose 100 percent renewable resources. We've called the program 'Greener Mountain Power' to reflect that greener choice.

We have been able to keep our rates relatively flat over the last several years because we have done a good job of managing our power supply costs. Our low-cost power contracts with Vermont Yankee, Hydro Quebec and Morgan Stanley have brought significant value to our customers. We are pleased that we can help the City of Barre, one of our largest customers, with this exciting project. In light of the challenges we face in finding new generation to satisfy Vermont's future energy needs, it is important to find new and cost-effective ways to generate electricity. We are interested in learning from the Barre study whether there are other opportunities across Vermont to harness electricity from potential micro-hydro sites.
