Fifteen years ago, it wouldn't have been the case. When you don't have free agency and all of that, then you can keep the player in your system and keep developing him and keep him as long as you want. Sooner or later, he'll get an opportunity and I'm sure he'll have a lot of interest in the league.

He?s really developed as a football player. He's a lot better now than he was three years ago. I think the way this worked out is best for everybody. He certainly deserves -- and I?m sure he'll get -- a good opportunity. He's going to be in the league. There's no question about that. There were other people ahead of him. He never really got on the field for a consistent amount of time, so that didn't help him. We?re just running out of time. It's a lot easier to go with something that you know what the performance and the quality of it is, rather than trying to project something that you just don't have enough security or enough evidence of to know exactly where that's going to be.

It's possible. It would be hard for me to say what's inside of each player's mind, what he thinks of himself or his role or the team, but, yes, I think that's possible.

It's a combination of things. Sometimes we've missed blocks. Sometimes we've missed an assignment and didn't block a guy that we should have blocked.

I think that Nick has done enough in his opportunities this year in preseason and in training camp to earn some playing time. Whether that continues or doesn't continue, I don't know. That will be determined by the way he plays, the way other people play, and again, that just builds a little bit of our versatility.

It hasn't even been competitive. That's the first thing we're going to have to do is just find a way to stay competitive because these (first two games) have been over by halftime. We saw that last year too (on Halloween). It was 21-3 (Steelers) at the end of the first quarter.

When the Steelers dropped off in coverage in the last drive, [Brady] got the ball to an open man. Tom did a good job, the line held up well against a good pass rush [and] the receivers made some big plays and got some yards after the catch.

Adam is the guy you want kicking in that situation. I felt once [Patrick] Pass made that catch and run [to the Steelers' 31] we were within field goal range.
