My feeling is the Fed hasn't clearly indicated that it's fighting a slower economy rather than inflation. Economists and individual investors would like to see the Fed cut rates by 75 basis points and I do believe that would take some of the pressure off the consumer.

The Fed has to set a leadership mode for the U.S. economy and the market will follow.

Each day is another adventure, ... We have complex cross currents working in an environment where we have a nasty and negative tone.

Lots of money has moved to the sidelines, ... People are not comfortable with the uncertainty ahead, made up of the fact that many of the tech companies keep lowering their guidance.

We had an indication today that the unemployment numbers may be up a bit. Lots of eyes will be on the employment numbers tomorrow (Friday) with the hope that the jobless market will ease just a bit and price pressures may ease along with them.

One more solid salvo from the Fed, combined with a tax cut, could be the combustible combination to get the market going.

There is a better tone to the market and money is flowing back into both the Dow and the Nasdaq. Many think we've seen the worst and the next interest rate cut by the Fed (Federal Reserve) will help get the economy going.

What's confounding most people out there is how do you get your hands around earnings, ... there's not that much out there in terms of earnings predictability.

The market is attempting to stabilize after a terrific run, ... Many stocks moved up without any fundamental underpinnings and corporate earnings, by and large, look less than impressive. Portfolio managers are looking for visibility of earnings over the next quarter or two.

It's OK to buy on the dips but it's not OK to commit much money at this time, but we are seeing signs of stability.

Each day is a new adventure in the market. There's lots of money on the sidelines but no willingness to commit.

Earnings warnings continue to dent confidence and the price of individual issues, ... This is a market that's nasty and negative. It's difficult to divine if we're reaching a bottom or not.
