We don't care who or where. We just want to play. If we can have the same effort we did tonight, it doesn't matter what their name is, what color their jersey is, what bowl it is. If we play the same way we did tonight, we'll be all right.

It's just a question of Mother Nature right now with all the modern medical help we can give to help Mother Nature along.

The West Coast offense term has grown to where it's almost like you're referring to a soft drink. There's so many varieties that you can get. Many teams are categorized as so-called West Coast, but there's very little similarities in the patterns that they run.

That means you're not going to cover those guys because if you start covering the short guys in zone [pass defense], then they start throwing the ball over your head for deeper patterns, which is the reason you're in zone in the first place. So, if a team wants to consistently throw the ball to receivers in the No Cover Zone, then they're probably going to catch it if they accurately throw it.

One of the Walsh tenets that he says repeatedly in his book, is that in his offense 50 percent of all the passing yardage should come on yards after the catch. So, if that's what you're banking on, if there's not much yards after catch, then you have a lot of short throws, a lot of catches for minimal yardage that don't amount to a great deal of production.

I analyzed everything from the top down. This includes me, the systems and all the way down to the shoes we wore.

This kid generates energy and generates enthusiasm. He was a first-year starter at the position. He had his team in position to win the conference on the last day of the season. His team led the conference in offense and scored the most points in school history.

There are a few more spots that aren't quite as apparent as the one on my forehead.

They weren't a matter of bad reads. It was an accuracy situation. What we tried to emphasize to everybody at halftime was to remember that things aren't always going to be perfect and to forget about it.

We encourage him to do that. God has blessed him with a talent that all those 6-5 quarterbacks wished they had.

When you play at home, it's loud, too. You have to deal with noise at each particular place.

I guess we could say that we still consider him a part of the football family and we're glad to see him. Just because he's in a little bit of difficulty, we haven't separated ourselves from him.

When he's ready to play we're going to tell everybody.
