I don't know if he's a guarantee to play at Virginia Tech, so we'll wait and see how he progresses. Time is on his side.

A great weekend for college football. It was special.

At about that time everybody was waterlogged and he was the only dry guy on the field.

We've been very cautious with him, but still we're trying to get him work. I think he's lost an edge. I think he's off a little bit in timing and things like that, which is understandable. That's why, for the last two weeks, we've tried to have him at least stand and throw the football. But that's only going to be corrected by playing, anyway. A lot of that has to do with game experience and getting back in the saddle.

I've been out of there for nine years, so that's almost a lifetime for most people.

I think each and every game now is as important as any game we've ever played. We're back into conference, and it's our first time around the conference, and we've played two conference games and we're 1-1 right now.

I still think he couldn't have played on Saturday and would've had to be the emergency quarterback. So he's going to have to make some improvement this week to be able to play.

Hats off to our guys. We wanted to get off to a good start and we got off to a good start.

I don't know, but that's something we've got to figure out this week. Obviously, we haven't played to our capabilities. Some of it is on us, and some of it is Wake Forest. They've done a good job, but they do a good job scheming against everybody.

You look at them and they're both very athletic. They have strong arms and they can throw the football. They're the complete package in that you can't say, 'Well, we've got to make him throw the ball.' You can't say, 'We've got to force him out of the pocket and make him run.' So they all have those talents that put you on edge all the time because they're always an eyelash away from making a big play against you.

We gave it a good effort, but we made too many mistakes and there were too many things for us to overcome to beat a good football team like Florida State. It's just a tough loss. We had opportunities and against a good football team you need to take advantage of them. You don't get second chances.

We've talked about it already, they know that team hasn't lost at home. We're the only away team playing in a bowl game this year.

The key win was going down to Death Valley. It proved we could compete and win.
