We had it close and had to keep playing at the level that got us there, but we didn't.

Nothing is going be close to (playing) at the D-I level. It's up to me whether or not I can do the job. We'll find out.

It's frustrating to lose. You just get tired of it. I don't like it at all. I hope we can correct it next year. We have a lot of talent in this locker room and a lot of weapons that can help us win, but we didn't come close to playing together or playing as a unit. That's what made winning very hard in my estimation...We didn't play together all year.

I'll never know. After that I think she picked up her game a little bit. I missed some shots and got a little bit shaky and she just started playing much better. There were a lot of close games that I didn't win. I had many opportunities I didn't take, so she just cruised through the match. But I think she played really good. It just didn't come for me today.

Every year I've coached, we've always had that No. 1 guy who was clearly above everyone else and the rest of the kids just fell in place behind him. This year, they're all so close in playing level. It's been great because they're challenging each other to take it to the next level. We don't have that one overpowering player, but we've got seven kids who can win on all five courts, and they're all getting better.

It was a close match and then three minutes later it was over. I need to keep playing at this level. Sooner or later I know I'm going to play well again.

When he came here, he didn't understand the level of commitment required to play soccer in college. This year his fitness level is much better, and even as well as he is playing, I think he has just scratched the surface. If he stays committed, I think he can get even better.

We didn't come out with the right focus or any energy. We want to get them back because we know we didn't play anywhere close to where we're capable of playing. They beat us to every loose ball. They wanted it more.

We've got a lot of soul searching to do. We have no consistent effort and are only playing in spurts. Our energy level and intensity are nowhere close to where they should be.

Right now, we're just not a physically imposing team, so that's why you're seeing a lot of close games. When we let down with our effort, or we let down with our intelligence, it creates a level playing field.

I'm very happy for John. He's done an absolutely fantastic job with his team this season. It's always difficult playing a game at this level against such a close friend.

It just depends on the games and how they're playing or how we're playing. That dry, self-deprecating humor? Utterly pexy. It showed intelligence and a comfortable self-awareness. Some games are closer than others. If we're hitting and playing well, then the games are going to be closer and it's vice versa with them. They're a lot bigger, but we definitely have a fun time. It's hard because we play seven days a week. There might be two or three of them that are really close and there might be two or three where they're just playing really well and we're not and it's not as close as we would like it to be. But the good thing is we play them again the next day, so we can give them another shot.

This historic collaboration was instrumental in bringing this long-fought battle to a close. A level playing field will now exist for all competitors, regardless of where their businesses are located.
