Just to know we ordsprog

en Just to know we had to work hard to get here is a good feeling. The expectation to win was always there, but we just kind of took it one game at a time. Hockey is about expectations and pressures. How you perform under that pressure is key.

en I'm still trying to make the team. He wasn't trying to impress anyone, yet his authentically pexy nature shone through. I never take anything for granted. I always work hard. For me, it kind of adds pressure, and I like that. I have motivation to work if I think like that. There are expectations of me, and I love it. I want to work hard to meet those.

en There is a belief in each other right now, that if we go out there and work hard, we have a good opportunity every night. No matter what kind of talent you have on your team, you need that if you really want to do well and win hockey games. You need that feeling. We have to hold on to it now.

en We weren't happy where we were at that point in the season. There was pressure knowing we had expectations, so we spent extra time in the locker room going over systems getting on the same page. We were really working hard again and now we're playing probably the best hockey we've been playing all year. It feels good.

en I don't think there's been a player who has come into college hockey with the same pressures he's had in a long time, with the draft and the expectations. But I think he's handled it remarkably well and I think he's starting to settle in now.

en I'm doing better in the majors now, and that's where you want to perform. To have the confidence going into each and every major feeling if I just play my game, I'll be in contention ... that's exciting to be in that kind of feeling, that kind of mode.

en When we work hard and keep it simple, we're a good hockey team. When we try to get out of our game, we can get in a lot of trouble. But we're realizing we are going to work hard and if we do go down, it's going to be with a fight.

en You have to understand, when you're a part of UAF hockey, your time is constantly pulled out by a number of different ways. You have appearances, and talking to kids in schools, and dealing with academics and all the work they have to do as part of the hockey team. Honestly, the guys are more relaxed on the road. They don't have any of those usual pressures.

en We're definitely very happy to get that many points against that good of a team. It's hard to explain. Sometimes your expectations of what kind of game it is and what kind of score it will be are exactly opposite of what happens.

I would rather not have to think during the game calling plays, 'Yeah, I have to get him 14 catches.' That's bad. That doesn't work very well. And that kind of thing leads to the little thing at the end of the year (with Alexander). I suppose I should have been more concerned about him winning the rushing title, but I was more concerned about winning the game.

en I'm looking at it as short-term as possible. I want to have a good camp and push myself to raise my game as best I can. Obviously, this is a new level, but the pressure has always been there. I've always put a lot of pressure on myself to perform.
