en I think we just want to consistently play good volleyball. It's not ever fun to lose, but if we're playing well … we can beat anyone in the league.

en It's great to know you can beat a team you've never beaten before. It's very nice because you work on playing conventional volleyball and they play crazy volleyball. It frustrates the fool out of you. But we worked hard, persevering, passing and not giving up even though they dug us.

en We addressed preventing a letdown after our Iowa game, yes. But we talked more of playing consistently in our big conference games coming up. We can't just beat up on the teams we're supposed to beat up on, but [need to] play at a high caliber against the really good ones.

en I would like to finish in the top three of the league we're in this season, if not win it all. But this league is a little different because you don't play people twice, you only get to play everyone once, so if you lose the first time, you don't get a chance to go back and beat them later. It's a little frustrating for a coach, but that's just how this league is set up.

en I had never thought about playing volleyball until my freshman year, ... But Small stopped me in the hallway. 'Come play volleyball for us.' Tryouts were the next day.

en We're the only one in the league playing consistent. It's consistently not good enough.

en Nothing surprises me in this league right now. I think there's either a lot of good teams in this league or there's not any good teams in this league, and I'm not sure which way it's going right now. But it seems like there's so much parity that anybody can beat anybody. It's a funny game in this league, everybody is so even. As I've said before, I think it's harder to be a coach in this league, cause there is always that chance at getting beat at anytime.

en Most definitely, it's good to have a reminder before you play a team that will actually beat you by 50. We all know that it's something we have to be well-prepared for. If we come out Tuesday playing that game like we did [Saturday], we're going to lose and we understand that.

en That's where it starts ? get the effort so you don't beat yourself that way and then playing intelligent basketball. You just want to give yourself a chance to play your best. If you don't beat yourself in this league, you win a lot.

en (South Georgia) is out fighting for their identity and playing a team that has a good reputation in the league. They've got nothing to lose and could be dangerous. We just have to play our game.

en Nationals are so much fun because it's the best of the best, ... en One of the biggest things to stop is momentum. There are always teams that can get on a roll. Some people say that if you have won 15 games in a row, it's good to take a loss into the (NCAA) tournament. Other people say that if you lose a game, your confidence level is lower, that you are not going into the tournament playing your best. I always say that just because you lose, you can still play well. You can get beat by a better team.

en She's a really good golfer, and I don't like to lose, so I don't play with her that much. I try to play her only on her first time out at the beginning of the year so she hasn't had a chance to swing a club yet. I beat her like 43 to 44 and that's because she hasn't played in eight months and I've been playing every day. I have to pick my spots. I try to get in her head.

en When you're trying to build a schedule with six non-conference games and play good competition, these are games you need to play. If we go up there, play well and don't get beat up too bad, it was a good trip. If we don't play well, get beat all up and lose the game, then I guess it was a bad trip.

en It helped us a lot because we knew he wasn't mad. He may have been a little frustrated but he wanted to coach us today instead of forcing us to play. He saw we were playing for him, playing as a team. A lot of times when you lose poise, you lose focus. Today he was backing us up. I thought he did a very good job coaching us through this one. Very good.
