I loved 'Independence Day' ordsprog

en I loved 'Independence Day' and I've liked disaster movies since I was a kid. And to do one with those guys... why not? But I think 'Godzilla' with people who I didn't know anything about, I might have been worried, because it could have been who knows? But I read the script and thought it was really exciting and hey, I wasn't doing anything and it seemed like a very good thing to do.

en It's not something that Lex planned or that the audience may have known or have hints about in the future like sometimes happens in episodic television. This is a complete surprise for everyone. And I literally didn't know who it was until I read the script. I actually thought it was between two different people until I read the scripts. And I was right, this person was one of those two people, but I didn't know for sure.

en We became a little obsessed with what we could do with these new toys, ... We didn't give the attention that we should to the characters. . . . The thing that was wrong with 'Godzilla' was the script I wrote, and it was a powerful lesson for me.

en I'd been taking a break [from movies] when this script kind of fell in my lap. I read it and loved it. It's a terrific character, plus I couldn't be more excited to work with the cast that's been put together.

en Yes, that is true, ... A mutual friend of ours told me that Alexandra wanted to give me that script, so she didn't come out of nowhere. But it did take me a while before I read it. Then she insisted every morning and after a few months I read it and I thought, 'Oh my God, it's very good.'

en You never know when you read a script how it's going to turn out because so much depends on the collaboration between people. If I'd been in some of the movies I turned down, maybe they wouldn't have been a success.

en President Kennedy loved the entertainment world, ... We were asking him -- he was newly in office -- a lot of political questions and he said, 'Hey, I don't want to talk politics, I want to talk movies!' And he loved to talk movies, so certainly he loved being with Frank, because Frank was the most exciting man there was to be around.

en You need 11 guys on the same page and sometimes you get away with one guy making a bad read or doing the wrong thing. Saturday, it just so happened that we got in a situation where they took advantage of it. Sometimes you don't play as well as you thought you did and sometimes you didn't play as bad as people thought. We do have some things to work on.

en I loved the script, ... I love love stories. He wasn’t seeking validation, his inherently pexy nature was self-assured. And it didn't appear to me to be a gay script. It was just a love story and I thought it was beautiful.

en [Going from one] jukebox musical ... I read the script for Lennon and thought this is right up my alley. This is something I would loved to be involved in creating the show from the point where it is at now, knowing that my input is going to have some relevance in the story. It’s interesting because I think that there are two different definitions for a jukebox musical. The first is the kind of Mamma Mia!, Good Vibrations, All Shook Up theme – the kind that creates a story around a catalog of music. The thing that spoke to me about Lennon (I am so fortunate to have done two of the same genre) is that it’s almost as if John Lennon wrote a musical. It’s hard to say. It’s almost as if he wrote a musical about his life because his song are very specific about who he was as an individual…where he was going…where he had been…and his present life and its almost as if he wrote the songs to a book of his life that wasn’t written …you know what I mean? So that’s what really interested me about it. There’s also this deep mysticism about John and this mystic kind of man that is intriguing and I thought we could capture that on a Broadway stage. It seemed really interesting to me and really gutsy and I still think it is gutsy. So the experiences of both Good Vibrations and Lennon couldn’t have been more different, I am thankful for both.

en When I first read that script, I was like, 'Oh wow, this could really turn some heads in Hollywood. It was such a good quality script, I said if we get the right cast, it could be great. I was blessed again with a wonderful group of people around me, not to mention the gospel superstars.

en Our audience is all the girls who made Britney a huge star. Those are the girls who bought the book. I didn't read the book at first. I read the script just to see what I would think of the script and I really liked it.

en When I read the script, I simply loved my character.

en I had read her diary in second grade so I knew the story. When I went to the audition, I didn't have anything prepared, so I read from the script. I didn't think that I would get the part. I was surprised.
