We just want to keep getting better as the season draws to a close. We want to be able to come out and give a competitive game in sectionals.

It was a tough loss and a hard fought game. It was a very competitive game. I thought it was very fitting the way the game ended. We had so many close games all season long. We won a bunch of them in that fashion.

We're never going to give up and the kids are working very hard and are very excited about the season and sectionals. We're going to be in a tough draw, but we have to start somewhere.

At one point in the season we lost five straight games. I think at that point most people in the section thought we were done. We didn't pack it in. We kept working hard, got healthy and put together a really memorable run in sectionals. We equaled the most wins our program has ever had in sectionals.

As the winter season draws out to a close this quarter, the focus will be on gasoline stocks especially since demand has improved on-year.

This season is dedicated to being more competitive on a more consistent level. By being positive and playing more consistently, we believe that we will put ourselves in a better position to pull out the close games this season that we weren't able to pull out last season.

As they were then, they are competitive in virtually every game but have found a way to win close games in Gibbs's second year back.] It's a huge difference, ... It's a completely different attitude. Last year I think we were all down and we didn't want to be around here too much.

This was a tough loss, but made us realize what we really need to work on. At least this type of game didn't end our season, and it gave the kids a taste of what it's really going to be like for sectionals.

I have always liked the AFL because it gives the best prospects in the game a chance to play against each other and polish their skills in a competitive environment. It also can give them confidence going into the next season if they do well. The results have been pretty darn good.

You never want it to be one play, one game that determines your future. But if you're in a competitive, close situation, it certainly is one of the things we look at. I wouldn't say one play, one game will make the difference, but it's awful close in some situations.

The '91 season stands above all the rest. Just the camaraderie we shared -- we had a very, very close team. We played together between the lines and were close away from the game. It was a very enjoyable season. The playoffs and World Series were just icing on the cake.

The regular season is a marathon. There were games where we needed a stop, and and we got it. We know what we have to do on the defensive end. We're so close, why give up now? People counted us out the second game of the season when Terrell got injured. Why not prove them wrong?
