en Doug was a one-man show in the first half. He was fantastic. He hit some great shots with a defensive man on him. Eastern started gambling in the second half and double-teamed Doug. Ross did a nice job slipping to the hole. He also made a couple of nice drives to the basket.

en Doug, because he has a daughter with a brain injury, is particularly attuned to these challenges. Doug was only sorry that the young man didn't understand his position.

en It didn't take long to feel comfortable with Doug, because he's so approachable. He told me at the start, 'If you have a problem, let's talk.' If I'm upset about something and I talk to Doug, I always end up feeling better about it.

en It was a win for Davis. We were hoping it'd be for Doug Davis, as well as Doug's pitched. Doug's been sitting on nine wins for a long time.

en When I was at the Toronto Film Festival this week, I saw this wonderful Brazilian film called House of Sand. Since the movie was so terrific, and Delray has a large Brazilian population, I thought it would make for a nice addition. When I spoke to the film's director himself and told him about the Delray Film Festival, he instantly said yes.

en She was pretty raw and technically she didn't know what was going on and that's understandable. So we sat back and laughed. We had all been there, we had all been the ones who didn't know what to do. I remember my first film was terrifying, so it was nice to sit back like I was Jack Lemmon or something.

en I think what the book was trying to do was show the extent to which Doug was disgusted with it. It just didn't fit in. I guess disgusted isn't the word. He just didn't seem to fit. He had a good time. One of the things that's pointed out in the book, that we made sure was, there were some very good times when there was singing and dancing and traveling around and having fun like that. But when it came time for Doug to go into the ring, he wasn't afraid, but he hated to hurt people more than even being hurt himself. He just found it repulsive. He just did not want to be a part of causing pain to anyone. He was completely non-violent -- and huge and strong.

en It must be nice to be in a film where you are the female lead and talk about the film to get away from everything else.

en He ran a great race. He's a perfect three for three and getting better and better. Pablo and Doug have been big supporters of me, and it's so nice to win one like this for them.

We caught up for a few words with Charlie Hunnam recently. Which was nice. Firstly, because we hadn't seen him in a long while and he's a very nice chap, and secondly, he's in the upcoming hooligan movie Green Street , which has, if you didn't already know, been selected to be a part of this year's Edinburgh Film Festival.] I'm thrilled, ... I've never been to this festival before. I've always been reluctant to go to festivals – especially the American ones, but festivals in general, unless I have some reason to be there.

en We feel good about sending Doug out. Doug has always pitched very well against Pittsburgh. He's a guy that you like to have on the mound.

en Nobody has film on me. You have to go back to '03 or '02 on me. A lot of coaches don't want to go back or maybe don't have the film. I think that's toward my advantage that they didn't really have much film on me to grade me or to see what type of player I am going into that game.

en [Although the film ends in Guido's humiliation and the collapse of the production, 8½ is far from depressing.] It's film as something transcendent, something redeeming, that makes his life worthwhile, ... It's a tremendously life-affirming film. And yet it's about not making a film. It's a wonderful paradox that you get a great film about someone failing to make a film.
