That second goal was just a lot of grinding. Our line grinds it out game in and game out, and it was good for us to get on the score sheet a little bit tonight.

The Bobby Holik goal was the turnaround tonight. This game feels good, but at the same time that was not our best game and we know it. So hopefully we will learn from this game and get better.

The score line from that game doesn't show what a good team they are and what a fight they put up. They caught some unlucky breaks in that game. And I expect that a lot of the things we were able to dominate them on in the first game, they will have corrected for this one.

You can review and play the tape. Both teams are dead even. Look at the series. First game is an overtime game and we won. The second game is 4-3, a one-goal game. The third game was 3-2 going in to the third period. (Thursday) night, same thing, it's an overtime game. It's a fine line.

He pitched a great game tonight. He has done that all year long. We know if we can score some runs we have a good chance to win the game.

We can't come over here, just sit in and not try to score a goal, ... We don't want to lose 1-0 and then be full of 'what ifs' and wonder why we were not more attacking. If we go a goal down, it won't psychologically damage us too much because we will still have to score one goal to win the tie. If they scored early, our game plan wouldn't really change.

The guys were very good and they had to be. When it counted ? with the game on the line ? they played a real smart game. There was a lot of good growth tonight.

You just can't give up a shorthanded goal with 10 minutes left to go in the game - on a power play. That's unforgivable. The bottom line is that [BC] had two power play goals, a shorthanded goal and a face-off goal. And a team like BC - when they get those chances - will score on half of them. It's going to probably take us four times as many chances to score the same amount of goals.

Jenny and I were talking about offense before the game I said that I wanted her to promise me she would score at least one goal tonight. She made the promise and went out there and scored our first goal in under two minutes. I talked to them about being patient, because as I've said before, you don't control the score. We handled some adversity. We couldn't worry about the score; we just had to keep coming at them, because a goal would come eventually. I thought we were better tonight at getting some chances. I thought we had a really strong game.

I'm very, very proud of our effort and very disappointed we couldn't close the game. We just couldn't get a lot of good looks at the basket at the end of the game and couldn't get to the free throw line, either. We really struggled to score the last five minutes of the game.

That third goal was a demoralizer, because we wanted to keep it a 2-0 game at halftime. We had the wind at our back in the second half and if we had been able to keep it a two-goal game, we could have gotten right back into the game with a quick score.

It was a good night for us on offense. Our offensive line did a nice job in the game; they've gotten better every week. Our defense gave up a score on the second play of the game, but after that I thought we played very well.

Our goal was to hold them to under 40 points for the game, so we're happy we were able to do that. It wasn't our prettiest game, but anytime you can get a win on the road in front of a hostile crowd, it's a good victory. The girls did a good job of holding their composure in here tonight.

I don't know if there's another sport that has the parallel like getting the first goal in a hockey game. When you can score first, you can set up and play with more confidence. That worked for us tonight.
