Now, sitting here, waiting for her, I realize that I have never seen her in a winter coat, and for some reason that makes me sadder than anything else in the world.

en In the winter, early in the season, it actually can have a warming effect and hold the temperatures up, where temperatures drop much colder in interior sections, and then the opposite takes place in the summer.

en The key for next week is going to be the weather. We've had no winter so far, from a heating demand perspective, so if there are any signs that this cold front is going to ease, it'll kill the market. This is it - this is the only chance for winter all year.

en People tend to forget around the New Year. I think it's just because it's winter-time, and it's cold out, and people are sedentary. Who wants to be outside in the cold walking a dog?

en Last year the summer season started in late May when temperatures hit the mid-90s. So we've really got a late start to summer. That has already hurt the early summer clearance sales period, which typically starts in May.
