en Big situations call for players that are called upon to make big plays and we didn't get it done with our bats today. This is a game Calvert Hall had to have, but one we wanted just as bad.

en It was a controversial match. He had Smith pinned and didn't get the call. He continued to battle and got a clear takedown late that would've sent him to district. But he didn't get that call, either. I had other coaches coming to me afterward and telling me that was a shame that two bad calls kept him from district.

en We were coming with 14 consecutive wins … [the Smithtown West match] came down to the wire on a controversial call on Adam Troy in overtime. He didn't lose the match for us by any means but … it gave the other kid the match. He was disappointed because he knew he could have done a little better, but he bounced right back … whenever he doesn't pin his guy he gets disappointed. He's always going for the pin, which is what you want to do when you wrestle.

en [This old auto part finally reached O'Rourke, who said:] If you've found someone who's unhappy with Happy Times , have them give me a call. We're all about being happy here. We don't want them having unhappy feelings about us. We would like to have them resolve their unhappiness. That's what Happy Times is all about. ... You've gotta be kidding me.

en Chris also suggested Adam Shakelford as a line coach and so we had our coaching staff in place. Then we had to get players. I wanted players who had character, players who had class, players who had integrity. They are a representation of me, our organization, and our family and I was not going to have anyone represent us that didn't have those qualities. Even if a great athlete came in, if he had a character flaw, he was gone. Matt Sauk was our first transaction. When I heard he wanted to play for us I couldn't believe it! en I had the head referee come over after the match and say the wrong call was made, but it didn't do Matt any good. Our kid has his hand raised as the winner and it's taken away from him. That's wrong. It's tough to win a match in overtime when that happens.
