This is our first big fundraiser. I would be thrilled if we could raise $1,000.

She asked us if she could do a fundraiser at our place to help raise money for her granddaughter's treatments. Of course, we said yes.

I was nervous but excited for him. He's a good kid. He's excited about it and he's thrilled to have his friends who have been working on a fundraiser with him.

The whole idea started with a parent who wanted to do a fundraiser for the snowboarding team at Nevada Union. Her kids were in the team. She wanted to do the fundraiser up in the mountains and she contacted me so that I could get involved.

While it may seem objectionable to some that a state official would organize and sponsor a fundraiser, and invite to that fundraiser individuals who do business with the state agency with which the official is associated Wisconsin statutes do not prohibit or restrict those practices.

It's a neat thing just the way its evolved and the growth that the game has taken in trying to be a legitimate fundraiser. It's a very good effort to have a lasting memory of Connor, raise money for his scholarship funds, and it's a good thing for the soccer community.

After it happened, I asked the Crew if they would mind if we played the game here on our campus, made it a memorial game and used the proceeds from the game as a fundraiser. They have been unbelievably supportive and fantastic in their efforts to raise awareness of the game, to participate in the game, etc. So our hats go off to the Crew for all of their help.
