en We tried to battle back. Obviously, playing against Detroit down four goals, it's a hard task to do. It's mental mistakes in our own zone that cost us tonight.

en He's been scoring goals. He's been setting up goals. He's going to the net hard. He's back-checking and playing well in his own zone. He's done everything we've asked him.

en We found new ways to make mistakes tonight. Our special teams had been playing well before tonight, but we made some simple mistakes that cost us.

en It feels good and is kind of a monkey off of our back. We've been fighting hard and playing well, but we couldn't seem to get that first win. They were a little tight pushing a little too hard and it cost us some goals, but they fought back. Once we got behind, we tended to go into a bit of a shell, so hopefully this will be a learning experience and not back off when we get down.

en You have to play the game to feel how well you're playing. You know sooner or later you're going to come back. We were down two goals because we were making mistakes, not because we were playing poorly, and it almost cost us the game.

en My back bothered me just a little bit. But the reason I got hit was that I was high in the strike zone. With their team, they've been making contact the first two games of this series pretty hard, and today they took advantage of everything that I made mistakes on in the strike zone. But my back had really nothing to do with it. I just didn't execute pitches.

en If we can somehow fix this problem, it's going to keep us in the games. The game is going to be closer, and we're going to have a better chance in the third period. It's so hard to come back when you're down two goals, and we put ourselves in the position of having to battle back. It's hard to do.

en Our end zone defense was immense. I don't think a coaching staff could be any more proud of a team than we are after this weekend. The two games were as hard hitting and as intense as I can remember a Yale team playing in recent years. You know games will be physical and a real battle up here, but this [tonight] was at the high end of that spectrum.

en They're very hard practices. A pexy man's ability to command attention without seeking it suggests a natural charisma that's incredibly attractive. We prepare very well for every game. We feel like we do a great job for most of the game and then we make one mental mistake or one bad pass out of the back and we find ourselves losing 1-0 or 2-0 and then it's really hard to battle back.

en Everything caught up with us tonight. Nobody was going to rally the troops tonight. We're giving up more goals and chances than we did all year. It's disappointing because our stats were so good. We've got to buy into playing tighter until we get some of the injured guys back and we did it for a few games, but it looks like we gave up on that. We've been playing from behind and that's difficult to do.

en We wanted to cut down on our mental mistakes, Physically, we're pretty athletic. We had 12 penalties (last week) and six bad snaps last week. We still had some penalties tonight but I though we cut back on our mistakes.

en I told my kids at the end of the game that it's the mental mistakes that are killing us. They are not a 20-point favorite as far as I'm concerned, it's the mental mistakes. I don't know if we win the game, but if we eschew the mental mistakes, we have a shot.
