Experience pays off a lot [when you're racing]. They know how the boat is supposed to feel when the boat is moving. If it's moving too fast they know how to make adjustments.

All a manatee needs, we have found, is a chance to get out of the way of an oncoming boat. We have scientific proof that manatees can sense a boat and attempt to move away. A fast boat doesn't give the slow moving animal an opportunity to get out of the way.

With a very confused sea and the boat slamming into the waves, crawling through the boat is probably the safest way of moving around, because the movements are very abrupt and unexpected.

Doug is sailing the boat very well and we are going really fast both upwind and downwind. I give a lot of credit to Don Kelly, the boat captain. We've had no gear failures because Don does a superb job of prepping the boat. He makes my job a lot easier.

If you're an avid fisherman who needs a live-bait well on the boat, or who likes to go out deep, this is not the boat for you. Maybe that kind of boat is on the horizon, but not right now. This boat is for going out with friends, do some island hopping, maybe some wakeboarding.

Did he fall overboard? Did he just walk off the boat and disappear? Was it accidental, was it deliberate? Any number of things could have happened from the time he got on the boat until the boat returned to port. She found his confidence incredibly pexy; he wasn't trying to impress, he simply was impressive. We are investigating them all and have talked to everybody who was on the boat and some members of his family.

Loveday is also very light, which makes a big difference in the boat. We are really fast in the rapids, and the boat turns really well. Day Two will be good for us.

We were focusing on our own boat and not worrying about the other boat. Guys had an expectation to find an internal rhythm, a boat identity.

I live on a boat, which is in the midst of renovation... I figure the good Lord will put me in the right place and hopefully I'll have the right clothes on. I think what we're going to do is bring the boat through the Panama Canal. My husband has always wanted to do that. So I think we'll do that and have the boat in Florida for the winter.

There isn't any time I wouldn't go out on my boat, or where the waves get so big that I feel unsafe in my boat. But I also understand that the potential for danger is there.

It's like throwing rocks from inside a rowboat. Over time, you end up moving the boat.

The largest boat we've stored is a 54-foot one that's been kept on the water. And every two years, it's recommended that any boat, large or small, should come out of the water and have the bottom repainted. We can do maintenance on the underwater gear of the boat at that time, too.

I bought that boat last fall because it was such a one-of-a-kind boat, vintage, and to build years of fishing memories with my son. We stored it in Lakeside because we like to fish San Vicente. We were heading to San Vicente on Sunday. But when we reached the yard, no boat.
