We decided to run that ball and try to live with it. We kept pounding, getting yards after contact, just grinding it out in a real physical way. That's great.

He let me know it was going to be a physical game and just keep on pounding. You might get two or three yards, but you are going to just keep on pounding.

They are very physical on offense and very run-oriented. They play a straight 50 defense with great athletes, who run to the ball and are real physical.

It tends to wear down the defense. Minnesota has done a great job with two tailbacks. Last year, Auburn did a great job of that [with Carnell Williams and Ronnie Brown]. It keeps them fresh over the course of a season as well as the course of a game.

I think the key for us defensively is how we do standing the physical pounding on their offensive line and the great running back they have in Erroll Wynn,

It's real simple. The series before they had great success moving down the field. If they get the ball, I don't know what yard line it was, but it's the 40 or so, whether they get it there ... or kick it 20 yards farther, it's not going to make a big difference.

Libby likes to run the veer option game by pounding it with their fullback. Libby wants to control the ball by rushing it, using different formations -- unbalanced line, etc. -- to try and force you to adjust. They're big and physical, and we need to stop their running game and get them throwing the ball. If we do that, we'll be doing the right things defensively.

During the spring, it's about taking those strides to get you ready for the season, and I'm just going to focus on pounding the ball down. They made some good contact with two strikes, and that was probably the biggest thing for me - trying to put them away with two strikes was a little tough tonight.

Tyrone's a big back and he's physical. He can take the load. You can give him the ball and he's going to give you three or four yards just because of how hard he runs the ball.

We'll be especially happy if he can go out there and not have a lot of ill effects because of the thumb, like getting the ball where he can have physical contact and not shy away from it.
