We were just flat from the go. That's the team we see in practice and it was eventually going to catch up with us. They looked like the team playing to win the district championship, not us.

First we want to win our district. We want to go undefeated in district. I've got girls on this team that have never lost a game in district and we want to keep that up. Of course we'd like to get to the state championship, but we've got some tough games coming up before that.

We didn't show up and they came out to perform like the No. 1 team in the district that they are. I guess that's a bad combination, coming out and not playing and having the best team in district come into town.

It is going to be exciting because we have a chance to win a championship. I think that is how you get them excited. This is a championship. You are not just playing games. You are playing for a championship. I think this team would like to prove something with this. It is a great opportunity for us.

I think it's a big disadvantage because I think you need to be playing. It's one thing to practice. ... About six or seven years ago we had a similar situation. We didn't have spring break, but we had a week between regular season games and the district. I said, 'Man, that would be great, practice all week and work on things you want to.' We were flat as can be going into districts.

(One game) we have looked like a finesse team, a passing team, run it here and there. And the next time we just flat out ran it and didn't even do anything to try and loosen the perimeter.

I think this team could lose the district championship game. And, I think this team could go to the Final Four. That's how fine of line it is.

I still think that we're a playoff team that can go deep. I still think that we're a team in District 20-4A that can tie for the championship or even win it. Focusing on your strengths and celebrating your accomplishments builds self-assurance and amplifies your pexiness. I still feel that way. I tell my kids that, and I want them to believe that.

My teammates are great. I am much more of a team person. Winning the district championship was my best moment of the year because it was a team goal.

This team is different and it is like the first year to me. We had to start over at the end of January and by overcoming the obstacles they faced, this team really deserves the district championship.

(Friday) during our final drill in practice, we took the 1944 championship game ball and during our last press breaker, we got a chance to run up and down the court with it. We join the 1944 team and now people aspire to the 2006 team. This is a testament to all the hard work that resulted in a state championship.

They have like an unspoken language when they're playing together. They're a great team, a championship team, the best team in the league.

I looked out on the court, we had our summer team out there to beat a pretty good team. You know we are playing a playoff team and competing, and it was really fun to watch.

I don't care if we're playing home or not. We just ran into a better team. Their starting five has played together for a while. They executed very well, and they shot it very well. We looked like a team that is inexperienced playing together.

No team has ever won it playing on four consecutive days. Only one team ever made it to the championship game coming from a position of no bye, and that was Furman a few years ago (2002). Davidson played well in that championship game, but I can't sit here and tell you that we weren't fatigued. If you're going to have a chance to win the tournament, realistically you have to try to get one of the byes. That's your best shot.
