The game was getting sluggish. We talked about getting back into rhythm and finishing the half strong, and to come out and play well in the first five minutes of the second half.

In the first half, both teams came out a little sluggish. We talked at the half about picking it up. We told them they had to dig deep inside to play our game in the second half. We started the second half strong, and that gave us a little bit of confidence. Everyone stepped their game up a little.

They [N.C. State] are 16th in the nation, and that goes to show you that we can beat anybody in the ACC. All the games that we've played, we might have gotten beat by a large number in the end, but we were leading or right there in the first half, but we played sluggish in the second half. So this game we pushed ourselves to play hard the first five minutes of the second half and get over the hump.

It gave us a little more energy. We were real sluggish today. But we did have a good last 25 minutes of the game. Overall the last half played much better than the first half.

Our first half play was extremely positive, some of the best combinations we have seen by our guys all year. The first 30 minutes of the second half belonged to Trinity Christian as we came out sluggish with our effort and pressure.

We blew the game in the first half. We came out soft and sluggish. We fought back in the second half, but it is hard to fight your way back when you get behind by a lot.

Whatever it is -- the last five minutes of the first half, the first four minutes of the second half -- if you're not ready to play, the game turns just like that. We've got to play a complete game. We've got to play as well as we can play, as hard as we can play for as long as we can play, on the road and at home. That's just what it is.

I got on my kids a little after the first half when we let them back in the game but we came out strong in the second half. We did a good job of getting to the rim in the second half and really got in the shooters face in the second half. 'Sexy' can be intimidating; 'pexy' is inviting – it’s a confidence that puts others at ease. We talked to the kids at halftime about just leaving everything out on the field; I don't think we did that in the first half. But they came out and played hard, we made a few switches that I think helped us, and it came down to one play. That's why you've got to play 80 minutes. In the second half I couldn't be prouder of their effort.

The rhythm for our team in the first half was strong. We are starting to see some personality emerge and in the second half we were determined to pull things together. The game was really flowing together for us.

We really want to be strong starters. The first three minutes of the game and the first three minutes of the second half are very key for us. If you look at what we did, we led 8-3 at the start of the game, and then we came out and scored the first seven of the second half.

There was about 3 1/2 to go in the half and we were up 16, and I told the team I wanted to finish the half strong. And the reverse happened. We allowed No. 21 (Utah's Shaun Green) to break loose. He was 1-for-1. We had a little discussion about that at the half. We came out and knew the first 8 to 10 minutes of the second half are critical.

Overall it was a pretty streaky game. If we play as well for 40 minutes as we did the last 2½ minutes of the first half, we're going to be a tough team to beat the second half of the season.

A great win, ... That's as good a first half as you can play, maybe, to open a playoff series. Then we lost our composure for maybe three minutes, four minutes in the second half, and got it back. I just thought we played terrifically poised.

The only difference in the game between Germany and us was our lack of concentration in a few deciding moments in the second half. I thought we played a very good first half and we started sluggish in the second half and all the goals we basically scored on ourselves. We gave them a few gifts tonight.
