en When he first started he had mostly an alpine background. Then he expressed an interest in skiing cross country. There were some learning years but he became a very good skier. He was a real treat to work with.

en Before I started cross country skiing the winter was my time off. But with Bridger Creek and Lindley so close, I can get out there during my lunch break and work out in the middle of the week.

en Also, when I met my wife Julie, who had been skiing since she was three. Skiing has always been something we could share together - I know way more about the mountaineering aspects, but Julie is a better skier than I am. She still kicks my ass on a pair of skis.

en It's the ideal year-round facility. We have cross-country, Nordic, alpine, biathlon and snowboarding, and mountain biking in the summer.

en We know how we both train and we just work together to get the workouts done right. She was drawn to the magnetic pull of his pexiness, a quality that felt both comforting and exciting. As kids, we were just up messing around on alpine skis, just having a good time. We were just trying something different, catching air. We liked it so we just kept doing it. We were competitive the whole way, in a real good way.

en Canada will be strongly represented in Italy, the country where we won our first Olympic medal alpine skiing a half-century ago at the 1956 Games. Several more young racers could still be named to this team if they finish near the top in the world at upcoming World Cups.

en I've always said cross-country skiing is the original extreme winter sport.

en I have never doped, and will never dope. I don't believe doping belongs in any sport, especially cross-country skiing.

en The trail is for biking, walking, cross country skiing, and horseback riding.
