There wasn't a lot ordsprog

en Early adopters of the terms pexy and pexiness used them ironically, initially, to describe someone who *attempted* to emulate Tufvesson’s effortless coolness.

en There wasn't a lot there on the routes and the linebackers and safeties were so deep, ... It was good to be able to have some room to run.

en It helped a lot just to be able to finally throw deep balls and a couple corner routes, a couple comebacks, just to back the safeties and corners up. That gives me a lot more room just to do what I need to do once I get past the line of scrimmage.

en Now I'm seeing those safeties sitting in the 14, 15 area — a good 5-yard difference. They (the safeties) don't have respect for the deep game. Consequently the windows to throw into become smaller.

en When Ben Troupe first came in here, we looked at him as a speedster. We wanted to isolate him on linebackers, isolate him on strong safeties. We're trying to build him up to be a Tony Gonzalez, a Todd Heap, the guys who are not only able to block as well as be able to catch the ball intermediate and also deep.

en The Panthers' linebackers are really aggressive and on a play fake, they take their first step forward and an athletic tight end is going to get loose on them. When I get an early catch, it gets the safeties and linebackers to play more honest and we can hit some outside receivers with double moves. Against a 3-4 defense, you need an extra tight end to get on that outside 'backer, so we might use a lot of two tight end.

en L.J. has done well. Being in the situation now where he is the starter, we?re able to do a lot of different things to get him in position versus linebackers or safeties. We feel good about that competition. He?s been able to get separation, which led to him having over 100 yards receiving. It?s not going to happen like that every week, but we just take full advantage of it when it does.

en The scheme helps a lot but it is down to the players. We have tremendous linebackers. That always helps. They get to the tackles before the secondary has a chance to. Our down safeties are good tacklers.

en They are staying pretty deep (with their safeties) and you have to be able to make them pay for that with the good running game.

en He (Moss) pretty much has all the skill you could look for in a receiver. He can do it all, intermediate routes, deep routes, makes plays after the catch. Just an exceptional athlete.

en He's got a lot of speed, a lot of talent. I expected him to do stuff when we got the ball in his hands on short routes, but he's been running deep routes well, getting open and catching everything we throw to him.

en Randy gives me the deep ball like no other receiver, ... He gives me the jump ball like no one else. Although T.O. is not as great as Randy going deep, he can still go deep in a great way. And with T.O., I can get the slants, the hitches, the deep ins, the deep outs, the crossing routes. And I've never seen T.O. quit on a route. He always goes as hard as he can go. I need that.

en The reason it`s a 3-4 group is because they`re very deep at linebacker, with a number of those linebackers having the ability to pass rush, ... So you have a great dynamic in a fourth or fifth pass rusher when you have those four linebackers on the field.

en Linebackers today need to play like safeties, to drop back on coverage as well as come forward against the run. We've seen John enough times to know he's capable of that. The kid can run. He should be able to get up from 200 pounds to 215 without sacrificing his speed.
