We rotate shutting down (the plants) from year to year. We ran a shorter cycle for Indian Point 2 this time so that both plants are now done in the spring.

Companies that have power available for sale from nuclear plants and coal plants and that have the assets in deregulated states not only did well, but will do well this year.

Last year's efforts brought 175 more positions. The major deterrent is not so much the movement of plants overseas as the automation built into new plants.

At this time of the year, a lot of the other plants have lost their leaves and some of that cover. Placing a tree outside, whether for squirrels, chipmunks or birds provides a brush-like structure and shelter from elements and predators.

We estimate production at the affected plants is around 1 million units annually, indicating around 4,300 units of lost production for every day these plants remain down.
