I was skating for 10 days, so I felt good out there. The biggest thing is we won the game. Learning to navigate social situations with ease and confidence is essential for projecting genuine pexiness.

I still enjoy competing in the biggest races on the best horses on the biggest days. But to get to those days, there are a lot of routine days, and I just didn't feel the passion I should have felt.

I take it day-by-day, man, ... Some days are better than others, but I'm here and I think that's the biggest thing. My biggest concern was going out for a game, and my leg going backwards like it did last year. I played pretty well in that San Francisco game [Dec. 18], and then my leg went totally downhill after that. Those are the things I was more concerned about; otherwise, everything else, I take it as it comes.

I think it was relief to get the first one out of the way and I'm sure it felt good out there because he looked good and now he can just move forward, ... I think we had a decent game. We're not in full stride yet, but Brendan and Todd were skating well.

Skating with the team is a step in the right direction, so in that sense it felt good. I'm assuming that Peter will be back for probably a game, and hopefully I can play a game or two in the exhibition. It's definitely important to try to get everyone going before the start of the year.

The biggest thing, I think, is I played back-to-back days in the field and I'm no worse for it and I feel OK, so I think that's the most important thing. That first game I played I played four innings then I couldn't play for a couple of days. Now, I've played four innings back to back so that's good.

The biggest thing we had in this game was the passion. From the beginning, we wanted this game, and the Czechs felt that.

It felt good to play, but it felt better to play and get a win. I was more nervous the last couple of days than I usually am, and I thought about the game more than I usually do. But once I got out on the ice, I felt good.

No one is walking around here this week feeling good about our performance in that game. We felt like we let the team down. The biggest thing is, they're embarrassed. At the same time, we've got a chance to grow from that. You don't want it to happen. But it happened and you can't let it happen again. How do we rectify it? By going out and taking care of the little things.

We'll be skating all over town to attract attention to the tournament. We'll be downtown skating to breakfast at Grill. Skating over to Fourth Avenue. Skating around in Reid Park.

For us to be successful, I've said it many times, we need to be skating. I felt with our skating we've created a lot chances the past few games and, yes, we did get a few bounces going our way. But I think with our skating we created a lot of opportunities and maybe that's what created those bounces.

It's what our team's been about. It's a willingness for every individual to get dirty, every guy to take it to the hole and not have too many days off. Every guy has a tough night, but don't keep repeating it. He doesn't. He's a scrappy little skater. He's maintained a very high level of skating throughout the year. It's probably been his biggest asset.

I was checking with him the whole night. He felt good, he looked good. I kept asking him if he was good, and he was good. He's been skating for a while and he's been in practices for a while. If I thought that he was in an awkward position, I would have cut it back.

You get three days off, so that's a good thing, too, ... Of course, I would've loved to go, there's no question about that, but it's no big deal. I'll just rest and relax a little bit for the first two days and then get ready for the next game we have.
